JUST SHOW ME THE TRUTH … I’LL ACCEPT IT

By:  Gary Colley

We would always like to ascribe honesty to the words of our fellowman, as well as to our own, but often find it hard to do consistently. Truth, in simplicity, is not accepted by the majority! Jesus is not really Lord, even to many who say that He is their Ruler. He is Lord only if we do what He commands (Lk. 6:46).

Multitudes of otherwise “honest people” choose the broad way instead of the difficult gate of repentance and baptism, and the narrow way of His teaching “which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matt. 7:13-14). When we say, “Show me the truth, and I will accept it,” and then hear the Truth and reject it, we are deceiving ourselves. One of two things happens to honest people when they hear and understand the Truth: they either obey, or they become dishonest. Please test your honesty with your Bible in the following:

ANSWER: Please read Galatians 1:6-9; Revelation 22:18-19; Jude 3; 2 Timothy 4:1-5; Hebrews 4:1.

8. “Show me in the New Testament that when we do not study God’s Word regularly, we will mentally and spiritually famish to the extent that we are ready to accept error, and I will accept it.”

ANSWER: Please read Matthew 4:4; 2 Timothy 2:15; Psalms 119:105; Acts 13:44-46.

9. “Show me in the New Testament that it is wrong to encourage false teachers and to bid them God-speed while knowing they are not walking in the Gospel, and I will accept it.”

We urge all to accept the Truth by believing and living in harmony with God’s revelation. Allow the Truth to bless your life, then help others to enjoy the same blessings! One man stated, “Honesty is still the best policy, but many people are content with second best.
